Marvel’s latest reboot of Spiderman has a lot of changes and from what I’ve heard is that they’re making it realistic but still amazing. I remember the last 3 Spidey movies that was sort of cartoonish and perfectly made for merchandising, but this time around is a bit gloomy and a side of Peter Parker told in a different way. There’s blood and sweat eminent at the teaser photo released few months ago so I’m expecting action packed scenes too.
I’m lucky enough to have worked with a client who is a licensee of it and got a sneak peak of the style guide. All I can say is “I wonder how did he even make the suit for the textures are so freakin detailed and fitted, I wan’t to wear that!”. The redesigned costume is very detailed that its almost like snake or reptile skin and makes the wearer a bit leaner or should I say sexy (Reminds me of Mystique LOL).
The spider symbol on the chest part is also different and a bit smaller and stretched vertically as compared to what we always see on comics or cartoons. You can see a black spider symbol at the front and a red at the back as well.
The gloves are also different and accented like spinning around his arms. It is basically made for the new metal disc shooters that is really a challenge for Spidey. Entertainment Weekly featured Spidey’s new web slinging gadget or shooters and basically answered my geekish questions. So its mechanical really?! not the organic web that comes from his wrists.. Think of it.. this one is a bit more believable.
That’s old school shooters for you and let’s see next year if these babies are worth the wait. My fave Emma Stone also stars as Gwen Stacy and speaking of reptiles.. a 9 foot tall Lizard is the villain
