X Factor US – Meet the Top 17

Finally after weeks at boot camp at a seemingly auto-tuned judges houses (the audio was so clear for an outside audition) it finally got to the final 16. But no, the girls category was so overly talented that even Simon Cowell admits he was mistaken for not choosing Melanie Amaro.

“I feel it in my gut I’ve made a mistake with someone. I’ve made a big mistake.” Cowell admitted to the other judges after they compared notes to see if there was any act that deserved a second chance.

“The other judges knew who I put through and who I didn’t put through. They were all on the phone immediately going, ‘What were you thinking? And I’ve now got to right a wrong,” Simon said during his trip to Melanie’s house in Florida.

“I want to personally apologize to you and your family for the mistake I made. You were so good. This comes from me and the other judges. We’re going to ask you to come back and enter the competition. We want you on the live shows,” Simon told to Melanie and her family.

If you are clueless about this show. The X Factor US airs live via satellite at 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday with a same night replay at 9:30 p.m., Studio 23 in the Philippines.

X-Factor US premieres September 21 & 22 and we’re excited that Simon and Paula’s back.

This FALL as FOX introduces “The X Factor” (FOX TV show) a competition series, hosted by Steve Jones, that gives viewers the opportunity to help choose the next musical megastar. The judges—Simon Cowell, Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul—will travel the nation searching for undiscovered talent of any age—both solo artists and groups—who are willing to brave the panel of experts and the American public for a chance to make it big.

X-Factor Judges and host, Cheryl Cole has been axed from the show even before the show aired and in turn replaced by Nicole Scherzinger who was supposed to be hosting the show.

“The X Factor” (US version) raises the bar and takes the ”The X Factor” initial auditions to an exciting and explosive new level as the hopefuls will audition not only for the judges, but also in front of a live audience of thousands in venues across the country. The concert-like atmosphere will bring a new dimension to the performances, giving the contestants an opportunity to prove they have the whole package—vocal ability, charisma and stage presence—from the moment they step on stage.

Those contestants who survive the first auditions graduate to “boot camp” and will then be divided into four categories: girls under 25, boys under 25, individuals over 25 and groups. Each category will be mentored by one of the show’s judges, including the inimitable Cowell. The contestants will be put through the paces and mercilessly whittled down until the top acts remain. Not only is it a battle between the hopefuls to stake their claim for the coveted win, but it’s also a showdown among the judges as to whose acts will dominate and make it to the finals. The judges may have their say in how the competition progresses, but it will be up to America to decide who ultimately has “The X Factor.”

“The X Factor” is produced by Syco Television and FremantleMedia North America. Simon Cowell, Cecile Frot-Coutaz (“American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent”), Richard Holloway and Andrew Llinares serve as executive producers.

“The X Factor” has been produced or licensed by FremantleMedia in more than 20 territories to date, including Australia, Belgium, Colombia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Turkey and the U.K. The series has proved a global ratings success, with the recent U.K. finale capturing a phenomenal 20 million viewers with a 60% audience share.

Hope we have it here in the Philippines soon but expect it at Star World for Asia release.
