Green Lantern: The Animated Series First Look

I’ve seen the preview of this at the end of Thundercats Episode 10 and I was very much excited too see more of Green Action! Our favorite green busting hero and aliens are back as they battle the red freaks.

Synopsis: The emerald hero comes to television in the all-new CG animated action series from world-renowned producer, artist and animator Bruce Timm (“Batman: The Animated Series,” “Justice League”).

Based upon the DC Comics super hero, “Green Lantern: The Animated Series” follows Earth’s Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, who is used to being in dangerous situations – but he’s never faced anything like this! Set in the farthest reaches of deep space, the series finds Hal on the Guardian Frontier, where he must face down an invasion from the Red Lantern Corps.

 

Powered by pure rage, the evil Red Lanterns have sworn to destroy the Green Lantern Corps and everything they stand for. Dispatched on the experimental spacecraft The Interceptor, Hal is soon joined by an all-new group of heroes on a mission to protect Guardian Space – and the Green Lantern Corps itself!

Cartoon Network is scheduled to air the one-hour special on November 11, at 7/6c.

Green Lantern – Top 10 things we liked and the goods

We heard bad reviews and low grade ratings for this movie but still we watched it for the sake of our curiosity. It’s Green Lantern who would wanna miss it?! But sadly it was really sort of a mess and just as dry almost like zombies. It felt so alien if that was what they’re trying to achieve.

Here are some notable things we think you should now.

1. Hal Jordan is one piece of meat and that’s all to it Women drools over him while men gets a bit of a knock to have that almost perfect physique. Remind us that green is the new sexy not will power XD.

2. Parallax is one of the Guardians who believed that fear is another power he can control but swallowed him up. You might have notice that one post was cut at the Guardians circle, well that was his

This guy is vicious and can rip your flesh as if its part of fear.

3. Lantern Ring Charger, once the ring looses the juice this comes in handy

4. Imagination is the key to wielding the ring but Machine guns?! swords really?! That was funny.

5. We want more action from the Corps! They just yelled and raised their hands and some seen just got killed YAY!

6. If it isn’t green, it’s yellow glazed eyes..but we love those vampire looking eyes.

7.  Tomar-Re seemed of a noble fish creature and Kilowog is one tough brute. Surely teaching alien style is way different but Hal did catch fast

8.  Saved by a Race Track! Sweet moment but God that scene was the only intense one.

9. Magic Words? LOL The Oath has become Buzz Lightyear’s favorite thing to say – “to infinity and beyond”.

10. The worst villain ever! Next time concentrate on Parallax not some demented Professor who has the same problems like any other geek.

Let’s get to the bright side! The movie posters were awesome, the effects were outstanding especially the CG Suit with green energy and tons of merchandise to choose from!

Green suit, rings and different faces but they’re all Green Lantern.

After watching the direct-to-DVD release of the Green Lantern Emerald Knights which is sort of a briefer to some of the questions over the GL Universe. These are segments of stories in the DVD.

1. The creation of the Green Lantern power rings, and how the first Lanterns (including the most unlikely candidate) learned to use their willpower to create power ring constructs.
2. The story of Lantern drill Sergeant Kilowog (voiced by Henry Rollins) became the Corps drill sergeant, and where he learned the iconic term, “Poozers.”
3. How warrior Lantern Laira sacrificed her ties to her family and homeworld to be part of the Lantern Crops.
4. An introduction to the ‘biggest Lantern of them all,’ Mogo.
5. The secret origin of how Abin Sur caught the criminal Atrocitus, who first prophesied the coming of “Blackest Night,” setting in motion events that would lead to Abin Sur’s death, and Hal Jordan being named his successor.
6. A rookie who thought of something to defeat a large nemesis and she was added to the book as well.

What I can say is that with all the past DC Animation this is far the best as compared to Marvel. The fight scenes where intense especially the one with Laira and her dad. Duh! the rings are computerized programming based on morality and its green really. Also a planet chose to be a GL is one major help, before we spoil the fun go watch the DVD and see it for yourselves.

This June 16th will be the day as green will be the color choice of everyone else and Green Lantern soars through cinemas in 3-D and 2D.

With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.
