Say Goodbye to IM, BBM is here to stay!

Last year when I got my Blackberry Curve 8520 from Globe and it was like no other! Imagine having not to use much of my PC that saves me from too much radiation and my power bill lowers as well

My first shot using my BB Curve 8520.. few hours afterwards when my dog had labor.

So there it was, my new Blackberry phone – I was so in love with the phone that even forgot that it needed activation LOL. I read most of the things I need at blogs like Blackberry Manila which is super helpful and specially Blackberry Support. I came across App World and installed it as well and never imagined there were useful apps that is beneficial for my Social Media Work like Seesmic, IM+, Facebook for Blackberry and finally Blackberry Messenger.

A friend asked me if what’s my PIN and I was like “what?!” then she told me to look for it at Options and Status to check for it. After a months or so I finally understood that it was like “Can We Talk” thing. What BBM does is like you exchange PINS for you to communicate via your BBs and it was amazing! It feels like all the space and distance is diminished when your talking with a friend faraway. Its an evolved form of messaging available only to BB users and I’m one of them!

Official Blackberry Pilipinas finally hits Facebook.

Blackberry is one of the most dependable phones whenever it comes to mobility. You get to email, text, call and even do social media at any part of the Philippines as long as you have a signal. Imagine us on an island in Padre Burgos, Quezon with no power but still can share what is happening to our friends in Manila.

Gadgets: Sex and the city 2 has plenty

We watched Sex and the city’s next installment and it never cease to make me do reality check. Most the scenes were funny and I imagine myself in the Middle East, I won’t survive that long LOL. I am not a tradionalist or a culture conscious guy.
Anyway, I love gadgets and tech! The movie has plenty of these gadgets, brands like HP, Panasonic, Blackberry & Apple.

Apple has been promoting its products actively in movies specially those that reflect society and reality. Carrie still uses her Macbook Pro and iPhone by Charlotte. But she now prints her document which is a bit new to me. Maybe a new HP printer?

HP has been active this year in the entertainment industry. Project Runway used tablets instead of sketchpads to make it more efficient when designing clothes. Guess who uses the new Touchmart 600 and the new Clutchpad designed by Viviene Tam? It’s Samantha Jones. She uses it at her firm and brings one butterfly designed nettop in Abu Dhabi. Blackberry phones where present too and used by Miranda and Mr. Prescot. These phones suit them with the kind of work they have.

A panasonic phone got my attention also and the LCD TV which they argued with.

Blogging Mobile with Blackberry and WordPress

Bloggers are now on the go, like me mobile is a convenient way. Updating Facebook, Tweeting and checking emails are the kind of stuff that are routinary to me.

I usually blog once a month and never really bothered to write with all of these microblogging stuff going on. But since Blackberry has a WordPress app everything is easy but not that visual as compared to the web version itself.

I found out that WP has changed a lot and has a major support for BB. So I tried, installed, run and posted articles. It was simple and easy!

Now all I have to do is put all these thoughts to share and hope you guys would like it.

Blackberry isn’t a good fruit

Just recently Blackberry phones started becoming a trend for business peeps like me. I have a Nokia E-series phone which works perfectly but there’s no impression or certain attention to it.

So comes Globe Blackberry plans which is affordable nowadays specially with Curve 8520 that is free for a 1599 plan. We applied for a line and got the phone immediately from Globe Direct.

1st error was they delivered a white BB and who would want that, coz we specifically wanted a black one.

After 3 days of wait we went to Globe Alimall to pick it up and assisted very well by the people there.

Getting a BB phone first hand was amazing but it did change after a day. There are things you should do to like activate your Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) so that you can send Push Email or use BB apps.

Globe offers Unlimited Surf for P1200 a month which is not practical if u have wifi routers at your area. Without this plan BB is pretty much useless or just like any other SMS phone. No emails no facebook no surfing.

So it turn out I’m spending just to consume my load and get the plans freebies per month. Plus getting a BB phone locked for 2 yrs.

I have no choice but to find alternative solutions to fully maximize my BB. It really is a tasty fruit but too bitter when you bite.

Better enjoy Nokia business phones or iPhone for you can fully utilize most of the needed things.
