Chronicle Poster and Trailer Revealed!

What are you capable of? “Chronicle” stars Michael B. Jordan, James Dehaan and Alex Russell as high school kids who developed extra special powers after being exposed to a mysterious substance in the woods. Beyond their understanding, their powers direct them to incredible discoveries and use them to their advantage as their lives start to spin out of control while their darker sides begin to take over. Directed by Josh Trank, “Chronicle” is reminiscent of hit thrillers shot in real time documentary-style such as “The Blairwitch Project” and “Cloverfield.”

CHRONICLE opens March 2012 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros. in the Philippines.

Get to know the Nasty TIMEKEEPERS and MINUTEMEN of “IN TIME”

It’s a race against time for two young fugitives in a society where time is the currency and there is never enough of it in the philosophical action thriller “In Time.” Starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried with Olivia Wilde, Cillian Murphy and Alex Pettyfer, “In Time” clocks in a world where which people stop aging at 25. From that point onward they have to buy, borrow or steal time in order to stay alive. Every second counts. For the poor like Timberlake’s Will Salas, life is a constant struggle for survival, while the wealthy have enough time to live forever.

Falsely accused of murder and on the run, Will (Timberlake) meets the rich and beautiful Sylvia (Seyfried). Together the charismatic pair is trying to bring down the corrupt system. The world created by director Andrew Niccol in “In Time” is corrupt and unjust. For the poor it is a daily battle to acquire enough time to stay alive. The rich on the other hand have centuries and can potentially live forever. There is a yawning gap between the haves and have-nots.

Sylvia and Will are running for their lives – not just to find enough time to make it through another day, but from the Timekeepers out to capture the fugitive duo. “Timekeepers keep the system running; they actually keep time,” says Niccol. “And our principal antagonist, Timekeeper Leon, is not really a villain. He is just a bureaucrat, an authority figure who has allegiance to no one, rich or poor. His only allegiance is to minutes and seconds. He believes (or has to believe) that you are either working for the system, or you need to be eliminated.”’

For the role of the Timekeeper Leon the filmmakers cast another “old soul,” Cillian Murphy. Murphy acknowledges the circumstances of his character – “he’s a cop charged with keeping this system going” – but the actor finds the deeper layers of Leon more compelling to play: “What’s great about the character is that he is a contradiction, because he’s actually from that same ghetto where Will lives. Deep down, he knows that it’s a corrupt system, and yet he’s decided to accept that and pursue his goal of keeping time. He’s a very kinetic and focused character, and for him it’s just about constantly moving forward. I think he’s suppressed all of his past. What I liked about the writing is that Will and Leon, they’re the flip side of each other. It’s just different paths having been taken. This is the path he’s chosen, and he suppresses all of the misgivings and issues he has with this system. He’s tried to leave them behind over the course of his life.”

As with the classic archetypal chase – the hunter and the hunted – so beautifully realized in, for example, The Fugitive, a bond forms as the chase quickens. Murphy adds, “Not only does Leon realize he’s from the same side of the tracks as Will, but there is a sense of history; Leon knew Will’s father. I think over the course of the story, they gain a respect for each other.”

Part of the menace of Dayton, apart from the possibility of timing out should one not amass a day’s wages, is the presence of Minute Men, who are thieves out to steal time. Alex Pettyfer portrays Fortis, the leader of the Minute Men – a refined 75-year-old psychopath (who of course looks 25). “Because of the character’s age, he’s quite articulate,” says Niccol. “He has more sophisticated taste in clothing than a younger man would have. That makes him seem different from the younger characters.”

Pettyfer offers, “Fortis is a bruiser, though not without a certain elegance. And he’s just a complete psycho, and crazy-hungry for time. I think the scariest thing about him is that he feels he has nothing to lose. He just doesn’t care. He’s just now gone completely insane and is on a rampage for more time.”

The actor enjoyed his trip to the dark side, finding it a liberating experience: “You can’t do everything you want playing a villain, but you have room to create. And I think that’s the most attractive thing about playing a character like Fortis; it’s that you can build so many layers with him.”

Riveting action thriller “In Time” opens October 28 in cinemas from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

What’s Your Number? A Movie of Being Happy for yourself and who you’ve slept with.

Last night we were invited to the Press Screening of What’s Your Number? at Powerplant Cinema 2 courtesy of 20th Century Fox Philippines & Warner Brothers Philippines.

What’s Your Number? stars a pair of unlikely couple but one thing in common “SEXY”, its Anna Faris and Chris Evans in a Boston-set romantic comedy, based on Karyn Bosnak’s 2006 novel, “20 Times a Lady.”  It will be at cinemas this October 5th but has plays today at US cinemas.

Ally Darling (Faris) is a down-on-her luck bachelorette whose best friends have all found true love.

After reading a magazine article that says that women who have had more than 20 sexual partners are unlikely to ever settle down, she’s shocked to realize that she’s already hit that exact number.

Determined not to go over, she enlists the aid of her womanizing next door neighbor, Colin (Evans), to backtrack her entire romantic history in the hopes that one of the 20 is the man that she’s meant to be with.

Our verdict is – it was a fun and crazy movie that open-minded people can relate to. If you’re not a whore-like person you will not get most of this movie. But with Anna Faris’ antics and gestures who’s like a romantic fool in search for the perfect someone makes you laugh. Also a sex-driven hottie who lives next door played by Chris Evans gets the romance going.

This movie is good for the heart and for the stressed out emotional peeps that doesn’t need too much drama crap. There are also nude scenes where they call it a “strip horse” game and buttfull scenarios. A lot of crazy flashbacks are there too and we love the Borat impersonation and the sex with the puppeteer – oh that was creepy!

Some words are really not for conservative people but guess what sexual reality is as funny as it is. We can’t imagine how you can have sex with 20 people or even 300 girls LOL. Check out the ex-es below and see them trace one and the other to find the ex who will be the perfect last.

Get to know the ex-es, the sex, the reality of it, the craziest thing about life called SEX and just being happy for yourself. “Love is not an easy path sometimes in bed and sometimes it’s just your neighbor”. Go watch Chris Evans and Anna Farris in the upcoming romantic comedy movie, What’s Your Number? IN CINEMAS OCT 5, 2011.

Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried stars in futuristic action thriller “IN TIME”

Posing an opportune theme on looking and staying young, the futuristic action thriller “In Time” is set in a not-too-distant future when scientists have created a world where people stop aging at 25. The bad news though is that rather than being immortal everyone is genetically engineered with a body clock that gives them just one more year to live. Unless, that is, they can earn, buy, cheat or steal their way to some extra time.

“In Time” is a film by Andrew Niccol which stars music artist turned actor Justin Timberlake opposite the multi-faceted actress Amanda Seyfried. In the movie, Timberlake is Will Salas who is falsely accused of murder. Will figures out a way with the help of a wealthy hostage Sylvia Weis (Seyfried) to bring down the system where time is money and where only the rich can live forever.

“In Time” is written and directed by New Zealand-born Andrew Niccol, whose previous credits include the screenplay and direction for “The Truman Show” and “Gattaca.” “Gattaca” was ahead of the cinematic curve in its creative use of CGI effects and in envisaging a future world where genetics have become a tool of social engineering. “The Truman Show,” meanwhile, was uncannily prescient about the voyeuristic reality programming that has changed the face of television over the last decade. Not surprisingly then, there’s seemingly a lot more to “In Time” than guns and car chases, even if Niccol insists that the film is first and foremost an action thriller with “a ticking clock in every scene.” “But, yes, it was definitely the theme of immortality, the desire to live forever, that sparked my interest,” the director concedes, adding with a smile that it’s no coincidence that “In Time” was shot in Los Angeles. “Los Angeles is the capital of staying young forever,” he explains.

“At the center of the story,” Niccol adds, “is this idea that in the future everyone is engineered to have a body clock that counts down the time they have left. And this invention is the death of all other inventions. So I think the film does comment a little bit on our seeming desire to stay young forever and what it would mean if we could do that, but our psychology may not be able to keep up with our biology.”

Amanda Seyfried, who recently starred in “Red Riding Hood” and “Mamma Mia” meanwhile, who clocks in at a spot-on 25 (inside and out), says that “In Time” is a completely original idea. The actress explains, “And such an amazing and intense concept – this thought that we may one day be able to switch off the gene for aging – but Andrew makes it seem entirely plausible and the characters feel completely real. I think there are very few writers who can do that: write a script with this extraordinary premise and create an imagined world that you absolutely believe in.”

Justin Timberlake says it was a similar response to Niccol’s script that made him eager to jump on board. “When I first read the script I just got totally caught up in the characters and the story. Will is basically an anti-hero, an ordinary guy who’s forced to become a hero and take on these incredible challenges, and that aspect of it really appealed to me: I wanted him to come from a real place and be street smart but not to have extraordinary abilities. The film might be thought-provoking and give you something to talk about after you leave the cinema, but while you are watching it, the movie stays a couple of steps ahead of you the whole time and doesn’t really give you a chance to catch your breath,” Timberlake says.

There’s J.Lo, Nikki Minaj and Glee’s Heather Morris joining the new cast and even Jeremy Renner – Avengers’ Hawkeye is part of the upcoming movie. Ice Age 4 will hit cinemas next year for the mean time here’s a Press Release from 20th Century Fox Philippines.

20th Century Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios recently announced the voice cast for ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT, the fourth entry in Blue Sky’s blockbuster franchise, which has grossed over $4 billion in all media.

Ray Romano is back as Manny, the woolly mammoth and the herd’s “Big Daddy”; Queen Latifah returns as Ellie — Manny’s significant other; Denis Leary rejoins the herd as the saber-toothed tiger Diego; John Leguizamo is at it again as the terminally goofy sloth, Sid; and Seann William Scott and Josh Peck reprise possums Crash & Eddie.

Joining the ever-growing Ice Age family for Continental Drift is a stellar lineup, including Jeremy Renner, an Academy Award nominee for “The Hurt Locker” and “ The Town” (and whose upcoming films include “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” and “The Bourne Legacy”), who portrays Gutt, a self-styled master of the high seas who’s determined to make Manny, Sid and Diego part of his crew; Wanda Sykes as Sid’s stowaway Granny, who causes all sorts of problems for our heroes; Aziz Ansari as Squint, a prehistoric rabbit who fancies himself a tough guy; actress-pop music star Keke Palmer as Peaches, Manny and Ellie’s headstrong teenage daughter; hip hop sensation Drake as Ethan, a handsome young woolly mammoth who has his eye on Peaches – and Jennifer Lopez as Shira, a sabre-toothed tigress who melts Diego’s heart.

In “Ice Age: Continental Drift,” Scrat’s nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he’s been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences — a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these earth-shattering upheavals, Sid reunites with his long lost family, and the gang encounters a ragtag menagerie of colorful new characters determined to stop them from returning home.

“Ice Age: Continental Drift” is directed by Steve Martino and Michael Thurmeier, and produced by Lori Forte and John Donkin.

Twentieth Century Fox releases the animated comedy event, in 3D on 2012, July 13 in international markets and July 5 in the Philippines.

Its all Monkey’s Business at Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Being invited for the second time by 20th Century Fox and Yay I didn’t miss it – the Press Screening of Rise of the Planet of the Apes at SM Cinema 6 Megamall last August 2, 2011. Thanks to Jeman of Orange Magazine TV for introducing me to those amazing PRs.

I’ve seen the last movie and this one seemed far from the story of the Planet of the Apes or simply think of it as X-Men Origins only primates :D . The latest movie from 20th Century Fox focuses on Caesar and the experimentation of chimps to find cure for Alzheimer’s Disease and other cognitive functions.

Synopsis: A single act of both compassion and arrogance leads to a war unlike any other — and to the “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.” The Oscar-winning visual effects team that brought to life the worlds of “Avatar” and “Lord of the Rings” is breaking new ground, creating a CGI ape that delivers a dramatic performance of unprecedented emotion and intelligence, and epic battles on which rest the upended destinies of man and primate.

The lead character of movie is a chimpanzee named Caesar, and it is his evolution that will led to revolution. Caesar has adapted the genes of her experimented mother which surpassed intelligence tests for primates. A baby not known by many was left living with a Doctor and his Alzheimer stricken father. Years have passed and positive results have been seen with Caesar. But not everything remains peachy as one day he freaks out and gets out of the house to beat the hell out of somebody who dared to yell at this surrogate Daddy. But this cannot stand and Caesar winds up living in horrible conditions with some other apes under the ruthless care of Cox and the next thing you know riot police are involved.

Its a powerful rendition with the use of today’s technology.. I call it CG with a heart. It was emotional and believable! You’ll get freaked out once you hear Caesar yell “NOOOOHH”. So go watch it at cinemas and see for yourselves.. you might even get to think that we might become extinct and it will all be monkey’s business. See trailer below.

A Monte Carlo Experience

Although I missed the advanced screening of the movie and yet I know that this one has some bite to it – so me, my partner and my sis got to Gateway Cinema to watch it.

A part of France where it faces the Mediterranean Sea and a prominent place makes its buzz again with 20th Century Fox’s “Monte Carlo” starring Selena Gomez as Grace, Katie Cassidy as Emma and Leighton Meester as Meg. A movie suited for those who want some light, optimism and inspiration in life.

The Plot: A young woman, her uptight step sister and her best friend use their savings for a long anticipated dream trip to Paris, which turns out to be a big disappointment. When they decide to take a break from their lousy tour and duck into the lobby of a luxury hotel, one of them is mistaken for a spoiled British heiress. Before they get the chance to reveal their true identities they are wrapped up in misadventures during a vacation to Monte Carlo instead. – 20th Century FOX

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez in Monte Carlo
She wore the dress right and rocked it with the boots!

Based from the novel by Jules Bass called Headhunters.

“Monte Carlo” deals with high school student and part-time waitress Grace who has always dreamed of going to Paris and spent 4 years of saving for it, Together with her best friend Emma and her uptight stepsister Meg also tags along for the trip. LOL! They were always left by the group as the tour goes and got stuck at Eifel Tower and really turned into a disaster.

On a rainy night things change when the trio pop into a five-star hotel and Grace is mistaken for a spoilt and wealthy British socialite. That’s what you call “Saved by luck”. From Texas to Luxury, the trio got to sleep and woke up not knowing they’d be going off to Monte Carlo where they have to attend a charity ball, meet the men of their dreams – and get involved in the case of a missing multi-million-dollar necklace!

Glee’s Cory Monheith also stars as Owen and travels to follow the love of his life (Emma) and funny he calls Paris the city of light not love but realizes it at the later part of the movie.

The bitchy socialite

Although some parts were a bit cheesy and predictable (if you watch a lot movies) this seem to made my night. Selena is a one of kind actress who you love for her simplicity and talent. Monte Carlo tells you to travel and see the world, run wild and let love find you.
